We chose Dixie eight years ago from our local Humane Society. She was ragged and dirty and we could hardly see her eyes. The second I walked by her cage, I had this feeling that someone - or something was needing me. I took a step back and saw her looking my way. Under the hair covering her eyes, I caught a glimpse of a sparkle. When she stood up and wagged her tail, I knew there was a spot in my heart for her. She had long hair, dragging on the floor, so matted that even after several washes I knew I had no choice but to shave her. My anxiety turned into excitement - it was like unwrapping a Christmas present...she was absolutely beautiful!

It took a few years for her personality to shine, I fear that she may have be beaten before coming into our home. She was always so timid and scared and not very receptive to unfamiliar people.

Dixie is not only a pet to us. As small as she is, she is a huge part of our family. We love her so much and cherish every minute we have with her. She has the most amazing personality....she makes our family laugh so much.

I was in Pet Planet at one of your Alberta locations and thought it was the COOLEST STORE EVER! You can only imagine how excited I am to know that you now have a store in Saskatoon!
