Whenever possible, Pet Planet prefers to develop our franchise locations in conjunction with the future franchisee, much like building a new home. We encourage our franchisees to participate in the design of the new store, selecting what elements they would like included, and even colour palettes!

However, occasionally locations become available that are too good to pass up - and then much like building a spec home, Pet Planet begins the development process such as site selection within a plaza and lease negotiations with the landlord. During this time, we actively recruit potential franchisees for the location. Depending on how quickly a suitable franchisee can be found, they may still be able to participate in the design of the new store. Regardless of the stage of location development, however, the selection process will never be compromised, ensuring the best fit and success of the entire Pet Planet brand.
